Terms of Service

The Sauna Mill is a place to find sauna rental businesses and to buy and sell saunas. We list rental businesses and marketplace listings, and help people contact each other.

We are not a party to any rental or sale. Rentals are agreed between the shopper and the rental business, and sales between the buyer and the seller. We don't own, inspect, deliver or guarantee any sauna, and we don't handle rental or sale payments. Prices, availability, safety, delivery, deposits and refunds are between you and the other party.

We review businesses and listings before they go live, but we can't verify everything they say. A "Verified" badge means we checked certain business details at the time; it isn't a guarantee of quality or safety.

• You must be at least 18 to create an account.
• Give accurate information and keep it up to date. One person per account; don't share it.
• Keep your password safe. You're responsible for activity on your account.
• We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk.

Browsing is free. Without an account you see a preview of marketplace listings and rental businesses; create a free account to see prices, full details, reviews and contact details, and to use search filters. Sending a booking request or message doesn't commit you to anything; a booking or purchase is only made when you and the owner agree to it directly.

Pay owners directly using a method you're comfortable with. For your safety: see a sauna in person before paying for it, and never wire money or pay with gift cards. The Sauna Mill will never ask you to pay an owner through us.

Reviews. You can review a rental business after a rental it marked as booked, once the rental date has arrived. Reviews must be honest and about your own experience. The business can post a public reply. We may remove reviews that are fake, abusive, off-topic or share private information.

Used saunas are sold as-is. Unless the seller agrees otherwise in writing, a used sauna comes with no warranty from the seller or from us. Ask questions and inspect it before you buy.

Pickup, shipping and delivery. Each listing shows whether the seller offers local pickup, shipping to you, or both. Shipping costs, delivery, timing, insurance and any damage in transit are arranged between you and the seller. If you need delivery, message the seller to ask whether they'll deliver and agree on the details with them. We don't ship, deliver or store saunas.

• Your profile, saunas, prices and photos must be accurate and yours to use.
• You're responsible for running your business lawfully, including any licenses, permits, insurance, taxes, safety practices and the agreements you make with customers.
• Profiles are reviewed before they go live. We may ask for changes, hide or remove a profile that breaks these terms.
• We don't take a commission on your bookings.

Subscription. Listing a rental business costs $20 per month or $180 per year, plus any taxes. New businesses get their first 3 months free. After that, your plan renews automatically each month or year and is charged to your payment method until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your dashboard; your listing stays live until the end of the period you've paid for, and we don't give partial refunds unless the law requires it.

Featured placement, when offered, is labeled "Featured" wherever it appears.

During our launch period, these fees aren't charged. We'll tell you by email before any fee starts, and nothing renews or is charged without your agreement at checkout.

Listing fee. Each listing has a one-time fee based on its asking price (see the fee table). The lowest asking price is $5.

Listings don't expire, and they renew automatically. Every 90 days your listing renews at 50% of its listing fee, charged to your payment method, for as long as it stays up. You confirm this when you list. To stop renewals, mark the listing sold or delist it from "Your listings" at any time; it takes one click. We'll email you a reminder before each renewal. If a renewal payment fails, the listing is hidden until the payment goes through.

Changing the price. If you raise the asking price into a higher fee tier, you pay the difference between the two fees at that time, and later renewals follow the higher tier. If you lower it into a lower tier, nothing is refunded and later renewals follow the lower tier.

One type of sauna per listing. Each listing must be for a single type of sauna (for example one barrel sauna model). Variations of that sauna, like sizes, woods or heater options, are fine. Listings that include more than one type of sauna will be removed.

New and used saunas. When you list a new sauna, you must say whether it's ready to buy now or made to order, give an honest lead time for made-to-order saunas, and state the country where it's made. A used sauna is sold as-is unless you offer a warranty in writing. Every listing must say whether you offer local pickup, shipping to the buyer, or both, and you must honor what you list.

Listings are reviewed before they go live. We may ask for changes, or remove listings that break these terms (including the one-type rule, misleading or prohibited content, or suspected scams). Fees aren't refunded when a listing is removed for breaking these terms, unless the law requires it. You're responsible for the sale itself, including the condition and description of what you sell, any warranties you offer, delivery and taxes.

During our launch period, these fees aren't charged. We'll tell you by email before any fee starts, and nothing renews or is charged without your agreement at checkout.

You keep ownership of what you post (profiles, listings, photos, messages, reviews). You give The Sauna Mill a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, show, resize and share it to run and promote the site, for as long as it's on the site and for a reasonable time after, for backups and records.

Only post content you have the right to use. Don't post other people's photos without permission.

• False, misleading or fake listings, profiles or reviews; bait-and-switch pricing.
• Scams, fraud, or asking people to pay by wire transfer or gift card.
• Harassment, threats, hate, discrimination, or sharing someone else's private information.
• Spam, unsolicited advertising, or using messages to promote other sites.
• Anything illegal, unsafe, stolen or recalled.
• Scraping, copying the site in bulk, or interfering with how it works.
• Getting around a removal or ban, for example with a new account.

Use messages for genuine questions about a rental or listing. Our team may review a conversation when it's reported, to keep people safe. You can report a listing, business or conversation with the Report link on its page.

The site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties about the site or about any business, listing, sauna or user, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Using a sauna carries health risks; follow the owner's instructions and check with a doctor if you have any concerns.

To the fullest extent the law allows, The Sauna Mill isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from rentals, sales or dealings between users. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100.

You agree to cover The Sauna Mill's losses and reasonable costs from claims caused by your content, your business, your dealings with other users, or your breaking these terms.

You can stop using The Sauna Mill at any time and ask us to close your account through the contact page. Cancel any subscription and delist any listings first so nothing renews. We may suspend or close accounts, remove content or stop offering parts of the site, especially to protect users.

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, for example to fees, we'll tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the U.S. state where The Sauna Mill is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
