How mobile sauna rentals work

What a mobile sauna rental includes, what you need at your place, and what to ask the owner before you book.

The short version

A mobile sauna rental business brings a sauna to you, sets it up, and picks it up when your rental is over. Most are wood-fired or electric saunas built into a trailer or a small cabin, and some offer tents or barrels. You get a private sauna at your home, party, retreat or event without buying one.

On our site you find businesses that deliver to your area, send a booking request with your date and details, and agree on the price and the plan directly with the owner. You pay the owner, not us, and there are no booking fees.

What's usually included

Every business is different, so check the sauna's listing and ask. Common inclusions are:

  • Delivery, setup and pickup within the business's delivery area (some charge extra for longer trips)
  • Firewood or the electric hookup for the heater
  • Basic accessories like a bucket and ladle, and sometimes towels, robes or a cold plunge
  • A quick walkthrough of how to use the sauna safely

What you need at your place

Space and access matter more than anything. The owner needs a level, solid spot big enough for the sauna, and a way to get a trailer or sauna there: think about gates, slopes, soft lawns and overhead branches. Send a photo of the spot if you're not sure.

Wood-fired saunas usually need no power but do need a safe distance from buildings, fences and trees, and you should check local fire rules. Electric saunas need the right power supply nearby, which varies by heater, so ask the owner exactly what they need. Some events also need permission from a venue, park or homeowners' association.

Questions to ask before you book

  • What's the total price, including delivery, fuel and any deposit?
  • How long is the rental, and when do you drop off and pick up?
  • How many people fit at once, and how long does it take to heat up?
  • What do I need to provide (space, power, water)?
  • What happens if the weather is bad or I need to cancel?
  • Do you carry insurance, and is there a waiver to sign?

Booking on our site

Search by your zip code to see businesses that deliver to you. Rental businesses outside their usual area show up separately, and many will still travel if you ask. Send a booking request with your date, location and guest count; the owner replies to confirm availability and price. Once they mark it as booked and your rental date has passed, you can leave a review to help the next person.
